Local Attractions

The county town of Worcestershire is a handsome place, with many historic buildings. Dominating a bend of the River Severn is the spectacular Worcester Cathedral, which contains the tomb of King John. Other popular attractions in Worcester include the half-timbered Greyfriars, and the Museum of Local Life. The 15th-century Commandery recalls the city's Royalist role in the Civil War, as does the Guildhall with its statues of Charles I and Charles II. Visitors can watch porcelain being made at the Royal Worcester factory; there is also a superb collection of Royal Worcester porcelain in the Dyson Perrins Museum at the factory.
