Local Attractions

Hartington, situated in Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, was an important market centre in the middle ages, having been granted a market charter in 1203, and though it has been many years since a market has been held in its large square, Hartington still retains an air of prosperity. The stone carved village pump survives on the green and was an important source of water before piped supplies were bought to the village.

Rally Information & Report

What a treat we had for this the third rally of the season. It was almost wall to wall sunshine all weekend, although cool at night. A lovely site with great view about 3 miles from Hartington.

With only five vans (hope you are better Julie as you had had to cancel due to feeling poorly) it didn’t seem worth taking the white house.

It was a good old fashioned rally with plenty of sitting around and chatting. A BBQ on Saturday eaten in Eric and Jacqui’s awning. Saturday night wasn’t too taxing with a true or false quiz and a spot of Pictionary, the boys being to victors on this occasion.

The adult quiz was Factoids taken from the Steve Wright book and was won by Ed and Karen.

All in all a very enjoyable rally, hope this weather can be repeated for the bank holiday at Harley Hall.
