Market Bosworth One of the most significant battles in British history was fought in fields south of this unassuming village in 1485, ending the Wars of the Roses and marking the start of the Tudor dynasty. Bosworth Battlefield Visitor Centre and Country Park tells the story of the battle and gives a picture of medieval life, while a trail leads walkers round the key sites. The village itself has many charming Georgian buildings, some constructed around the core of older houses. South of the battlefield, Stoke Golding church is one of the finest in the area, little altered since the late 13th century.
