Rally Information & Report
The weather was absolutely brilliant for this our third visit to the Banbury Steam Society's Vintage Rally. We had 8 units in attendance from BDCCC where we were parked alongside The Coachman Owners Club and The Astral Owners Club. All the clubs gathered together on Friday night for a welcome drink before visiting the fair ground to try out the rides at £1 a go.
On Saturday everyone got their annual fix of smoke and steam and wandered around the market stalls, craft fair, trying samples in the food hall etc. After tea on Saturday many people went back into the showground to listen to the fairground organ recitals and call in at the beer tent where there was live entertainment. How nice it was on returning that we could sit out while midnight, talking and reminising.
Sunday morning we had a joint flag/coffee morning then it was back to the showground for the falconry display, dancing sheep, classic car show and the Grand Parade. All too soon it was time for football fans to gather for the World Cup where England played Germany, this meant for Yvonne and myself time to bid a farewell to everyone, thank them for supporting us and to set off on our 150 mile journey home after a very enjoyable, but all too short a rally.
